NYPD doing little to combat scam and fraud

Let’s get real for a moment.

What in the hell is the NYPD thinking when it comes to protecting its citizens through simple pamphlets and mini posters?! Do they think it’s making a true difference on the streets of New York?! If I was to place the words DO NOT SCAM ME on a sheet of paper, does that protect me? Or does the words DO NOT SCAM ME, ASSHOLE, OR I’LL CALL THE COPS work better?!

Maybe they believe the baseless flyers they put up in thier police departments will conjure up a scare within the scammer underworld! Take it from me, a man who experienced the true con- a flyer does no more than asking a heroin addict to stay off drugs. And in the end, it’s more reactive than proactive because, considering the flyers are posted in the police precinct, the place where the victimized rush into for assistance with the crime that was already committed, their messages and methods of prevention are, for the most part, wasteful.

A true scam prevention specialist knows that fraud prevention is taught up close and personal, and before any scam occurs. This way, the signs are noticed before the scam’s climax and authorities can be contacted in time and on time.

So, the next time you see one of the police department’s colorful flyers and pamphlets insisting that you mind the rules of scam prevention, ask yourself – or the nearest police officer- “where in the hell was this shit when I needed it most?!”

(These anti – scam flyers are currently hanging up in the main area of NYPD’s 24th Precinct. Funny they’re acknowledging the FBI, considering the grossly incompetent federal agency is vastly overwhelmed and understaffed to handle ANY sort of prevention. I regret if I am scaring you, guys.)
